The Machines in the Fields

Farmer Saldean refuses to follow the people driven from Westfall. Yet even the fields around his home are unsafe: harvest watchers have taken over, and he pays for their destruction. Machinery that should belong to agricultural life now stands between the farmers and their land.

Ozwin Ironsprocket arrives from Ironforge believing he can recalibrate the machines. Their aggression drives him into a stable instead. He asks for salvaged springs and stabilizers to build a means of escape. A recovered control assembly then gives him a better understanding of their workings.

His next proposal is a temporary override, assembled from scavenged and crafted components. The request is an attempt to regain control, not evidence that all the harvesters are repaired. Westfall’s farmers still face the machines while Ozwin works on a way to turn their mechanisms to his advantage.
